First Aid Course
This comprehensive first aid certification course provides basic first aid knowledge to care for adults, children and infants in case of an emergency. Upon successful completion, participants receive a national WorkSafe BC first aid certificate (Occupational First Aid level 1) valid for 3 years.
This one day course is delivered on-site in a classroom, instructor-led format. Prerequisites include:
- Basic English skill, verbal and written

Upon completion of this hands-on course, students will be able to:
- Identify and perform appropriate critical interventions of the airway with C-spine control for conscious patients and patients with a decreased level of consciousness.
- Identify respiratory emergencies and perform appropriate critical interventions
- Identify circulatory emergencies and perform appropriate critical interventions
- Identify and perform appropriate interventions for minor soft tissue injuries
